Learn the fundamentals of 3D animation in Technical Concepts of Visual Effects

3D Modeling & Animation

Students learn the fundamentals of 3D animation from the basics, without needing any prior knowledge. Modeling, texturing, rigging, and keyframe animation cover the first half of the Technical Concepts course.

Dynamic Simulations

Students learn how to utilize dynamic simulations and physics plugins in the second half of the Technical Concepts course. We also dive into using motion capture to drive character animation, as well as scripting to automate our workflows.

Effects and More

Students who pursue the Tech Concepts II course in the Spring semester will move into node-based effects and simulation. Learning to create a wide variety of fire, water, and collision effects. We also cover layered compositing and post-production editing techniques.

Learn the Fundamentals

The fundamentals of 3D modeling and animation apply to many software applications used in the fields of animation, effects, and game developement. Concepts learnt in these courses will apply to a wide variety of career paths.
